The Leadership Team
Our team approach to leadership reflects our values as an agency committed to empowering women, including its staff. Executive Director Teresa Mejía, a staff member for more than twelve years, leads our efforts. An Operations Team, comprised of our Development, Program, and Facilities Directors, works with Teresa on strategic planning and program development, external relations, and agency management. Board members are active in agency development and provide substantive guidance and support in finance and program development.
The Board of Directors
- President, Katherine Roubos is a Program Coordinator and Case Manager at the postsecondary education initiative at Larkin Street Youth services. She also works as an independent non-profit strategy and retreat facilitation consultant for Bay Area organizations.
- Vice President, Lynn Chen is a Product Analyst with Blue Shield.
- Secretary, Amy Butcher is a writer, massage therapist, and business consultant in the Bay Area.
- Treasurer, Chandra Alexandre is Director of Development at the Bay Area Council in San Francisco.
- Samantha Rubenstein is a Book Publicist for Wiley Publishing and on the Board of the National California Association of Publishers.
- Lotte Vester is a Vice President, Finance of the Americas at Lonely Planet Publications, Inc.
- Laura Fraenza is a freelance event and entertainment producer, writer, and SF Arts Monthly online curator.
- Carrie Wickman Dorn is a marketing and fundraising professional.
