Margaret Crosby

Margaret Crosby, aka Maggie is a staff attorney for the ACLU of Northern California.

Quiet and unassuming, Maggie has gone about crafting legislation that has codified Roe v. Wade in California should the US Supreme Court overturn it and cleaning up the sex education code for the state requiring that all sex education, taught in the public schools, be medically accurate and non-biased.

Maggie was asked this past Spring for a recommendation for someone who could teach a small group of Latino kids in the Mission how to lobby and about the legislative process.
Her response was immediate – “Do you think I could do it?”  We were dumbfounded as we certainly did not think that Maggie had the time to come herself to provide the training.

“This is something that is hands on and real and is why we do what we do,” she replied.
She came, the kids loved her and she was fabulous!

Maggie is a truly humble and brilliant person and we are so lucky to have her working on behalf of our rights and liberties.
