Suzanne Balcer

1938 - 2008

A long-time resident of San Francisco, Suzanne Balcer was a specialist in alcoholism recovery and alcohol-related areas such as adult children of alcoholics.

For many years she served primarily the lesbian community as a therapist. She was also frequently a professional resource at recovery conferences.

Suzanne was exceptional as a counselor and was known for her cut-to-the-chase advice and quick sense of humor. She loved her work and delighted in the people she worked with.

Having relocated to the Palm Desert area, she was working with court-referred DUI clients until just a few months before her death from cancer.
